HOW THE INSURANCE PROCEEDS AGREEMENT PROTECTS THE RESTORATION
A CLEAR CONSTRUCTION AGREEMENT—NOT A COVERAGE DECISION
The Insurance Proceeds Agreement explains how Michael’s Roofing will perform the approved restoration work and how insurance proceeds issued for that work are applied to the project.
We use the same estimating software commonly used by insurance carriers. Our purpose is not to create a pricing dispute; it is to identify the affected property and establish the work required to restore it to its pre-storm condition. We complete the approved restoration for the insurance proceeds assigned to that work, subject to the agreement and the homeowner’s policy obligations. This clear process provides peace of mind.
It does not allow Michael’s Roofing to decide coverage, interpret the policy, or control the insurer. Coverage decisions remain with the insurance company and the policyholder.
WHY THIS AGREEMENT MATTERS

• It allows planning, material selection, scheduling, and construction preparation to move forward.
• It keeps the insurance-funded scope connected to the work required to restore the property.
• It confirms that deductible and customer-selected upgrades remain the homeowner’s responsibility.
• It helps prevent confusion about supplements, change orders, depreciation, and final payment.
DOCUMENTATION AND SCOPE REVIEW
Our role is construction-focused. We inspect the property, document visible damage, prepare measurements, explain repair requirements, communicate construction facts, and compare the carrier’s proposed scope with the work needed to restore the property properly.
If legitimate damage, required accessories, code-related work, or necessary construction is missing from the proposed scope, we document and explain those items. The insurer determines whether an item is covered.
